➡️ Brandon Lee is a Chinese-American human rights and land defender in the Northern Philippines. Born and raised in San Francisco, he moved to the Philippines nearly a decade ago to organize with the indigenous people in the Cordillera region. He and his colleagues had been receiving death threats from elements of the Armed Forces of the Philippines for several years. Two of his close colleagues, William Bugatti and Ricardo Mayumi, were targeted and killed in 2014 and 2018, respectively, for their work with political prisoners and against the construction of a hydropower dam.

On August 6, 2019, after picking up his young daughter from school, Brandon was shot several times in the back by suspected paramilitary agents who he claimed were following him just weeks before the incident. Brandon was severely wounded; he has survived 8 cardiac arrests and is continuing to fight for his life. Philippine military and police personnel have shown up in the hospital, continuing to harass him and his family and colleagues.

Funds from this benefit show will go to his mounting medical expenses and to help bring him back to the U.S. via medical evacuation airlift. Please come out for this show or donate to Brandon’s GoFundMe! ✊🏽
